Thamud (people) belied the Messenger.
View Contextكَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

When their brother Salih (Saleh) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him?
View Contextإِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَالِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

"I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.
View Contextإِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
English:Mohsin Khan & Halali
"So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.
View Contextفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

"No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).
View Contextوَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

"Will you be left secure in that which you have here?
View Contextأَتُتْرَكُونَ فِي مَا هَاهُنَا آمِنِينَ

"In gardens and springs.
View Contextفِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
English:Mohsin Khan & Halali
And green crops (fields etc.) and date-palms with soft spadix.
View Contextوَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ

"And you carve houses out of mountains with great skill.
View Contextوَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَارِهِينَ

"So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.
View Contextفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
English:Mohsin Khan & Halali
"And follow not the command of Al-Musrifun [i.e. their chiefs, leaders who were polytheists, criminals and sinners],
View Contextوَلَا تُطِيعُوا أَمْرَ الْمُسْرِفِينَ

"Who make mischief in the land, and reform not."
View Contextالَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ

They said: "You are only of those bewitched!
View Contextقَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرِينَ

"You are but a human being like us. Then bring us a sign if you are of the truthful."
View Contextمَا أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِآيَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ

He said: "Here is a she-camel; it has a right to drink (water), and you have a right to drink (water) (each) on a day, known.
View Contextقَالَ هَٰذِهِ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ

"And touch her not with harm, lest the torment of a Great Day seize you."
View Contextوَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

But they killed her, and then they became regretful.
View Contextفَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا نَادِمِينَ

So the torment overtook them. Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.
View Contextفَأَخَذَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.
View Contextوَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ
