O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW)!
View Contextبِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ
English:Mohsin Khan & Halali
Stand (to pray) all night, except a little.
View Contextقُمِ اللَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا
English:Mohsin Khan & Halali
Half of it, or a little less than that,
View Contextنِّصْفَهُ أَوِ انقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا
English:Mohsin Khan & Halali
Or a little more; and recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style.
View Contextأَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا
English:Mohsin Khan & Halali
Verily, We shall send down to you a weighty Word (i.e. obligations, legal laws, etc.).
View Contextإِنَّا سَنُلْقِي عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًا ثَقِيلًا
English:Mohsin Khan & Halali
Verily, the rising by night (for Tahajjud prayer) is very hard and most potent and good for governing (the soul), and most suitable for (understanding) the Word (of Allah).
View Contextإِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ اللَّيْلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطْئًا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا
English:Mohsin Khan & Halali
Verily, there is for you by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties,
View Contextإِنَّ لَكَ فِي النَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِيلًا
English:Mohsin Khan & Halali
And remember the Name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with a complete devotion.
View Contextوَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا
