Oceans & Water Cycle
Water is the origin and basis of all living things on the earth. The oceans form the major water body on the earth which is not only the source of rain water but also provides means for transportation of goods across the continents. Oceans are also the habitat of innumerable plant and animal species which are not only an exhibit of the beauty of nature but are also a source of food and other valuable materials for human use.
Water cycle is a sophisticated system of vaporization, transportation and precipitation of sea water that helps to replenish the ground water sources of ice caps, streams, rivers and underground water table. Rain satisfies the thirst of both animals and plants and provides them water to live and flourish. The Holy Quran describes different stages of water cycle as signs of Allah’s bounty on human beings and encourages them to be thankful to Him for His blessings.
