Rights of women

Women have a very respectful place in an Islamic society as mother, sister, daughter and wife. Women have been absolved from all financial obligations and men are responsible for their safety, sustenance and dignity. Maltreatment of women even when they are in vulnerable situations is strictly forbidden. Women have been given the right to own property and have a fair share in the inheritance. Detailed instructions have been given in The Holy Quran to safeguard the rights of a women in special situations like marital disputes, divorce and death of her husband. There is no distinction between men and women in the rewards for good deeds and both will be awarded equally in the hereafter for their efforts.
